Dear John,
What’s your best moment in the outdoors?
Summitting a long hike? Swooshing in knee-deep powder? Crushing that rocky face? It felt amazing, right?
That’s the stuff that inspires us. Elates us. Defines the spirit of who we are.
My name’s Eric. When I lost my eyesight at the age of 13, I felt trapped. Scared. Betrayed by my own body.
My way out of fear was the outdoors. Summiting Everest. Kayaking class 6 rapids.
Scaling sheer cliffs.
A blind guy kayaking? Damn straight.
The mountains became my sanctuary. My saving grace.
Everyone deserves that chance. The chance to step out of their limitations and into the beauty and power of the outdoors.
The Colorado Mountain Club blazes the trail in giving people that chance.
It gave 72-year-old Pam Hardy the chance to take her first ever backpack trip. And first-generation American Niloy Phukan the chance to become a Wilderness First Responder.
It gave 72-year-old Pam Hardy the chance to take her first ever backpack trip. And first-generation American Niloy Phukan the chance to become a Wilderness First Responder.
It protects hundreds of thousands of Colorado public lands so future generations can explore, adventure, and create their own path.
Courses. Expeditions. Advocacy. The Colorado Mountain Club connects us to the very core of the great outdoors.
With your help, this work can continue.
Here’s what your contribution might do:
$500 will purchase learning materials for 2 backpacking school courses
$1000 will fund an expedition for a qualifying teenager in financial need
$5000 will finance construction of a new backcountry hut for Avalanche training and certification
With supporters like you, CMC can reach new heights: Teaching. Serving. Throwing the doors open to Colorado’s splendor.
Give the gift of epic outdoor moments.
